This month’s WIPocalypse question is, “which specialty stitches do you love doing on projects? Which do you dread?”
I have to admit that the projects I stitch aren’t incredibly complex in terms of types of stitches. Most of the time it’s just the basic cross stitch. Having said that, my mystery project called for lazy daisy stitches. It has been quite a while since I’ve done a lazy daisy stitch. So long in fact, that I had to find it on YouTube to refresh my memory. Once I watched the video, I was comfortable enough to try it out again (the only other time I did a lazy daisy stitch was on an embroidery project I did YEARS ago).
I enjoy creating the lazy daisy stitch; however, I could tell that I needed practice on it. It wasn’t as even in size as I would like. Having said that, I must admit that I don’t enjoy any kind of quarter stitch. I know quarter stitches enhance the detail, but I don’t enjoy piercing through the fabric where there isn’t already a hole, i.e. Aida fabric.
